Basalt Mesa
Basalt Mesa shows the transition between one lava flow with near-perfect hexagonal columns and another that is less perfect and more similar to the sheer cliff shown in Basalt 1. We modeled it as a stand-alone hill, but many of our customers will cut it along the vertical fractures and rearrange the pieces to whatever shape suits their needs. If you use it as a stand-alone hill, you’ll need to glue some nice flat stiffeners to the inside to keep the basalt columns reasonably straight and realistic-looking.
